Brief introduction of Elizabeth Knox Home and its importance in Health care system: The Health Care System of New Zealand has undergone for so many significant changes throughout the past few decades to provide best possible health care to all its residents and it changed completely from an essentially public system to a mixed Public – Private health care system. It provide a variety of health services as in public care, primary care and emergency care. Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital is a Charitable Trust at 10 Ranfurly road, Epsom, Auckland is an organisation which provides a variety of services like: †¢ Rest home care †¢ Hospital care †¢ Young disabled care †¢ Day care †¢ Respite care †¢ Palliative care as well as carer support The trust was established 100 years ago on the basis of a desire to care for those who are in need, of Mrs Elizabeth Knox after her death. Currently it has 136 beds and provide a high level of care across the age continuum – for physically disabled young and elderly. This organisation plays an important role in the service delivery of health care as it offers a wide range of services as well as activities to its residents as they are encouraged to be as independent as possible within a safe, warm, friendly and a comfortable environment.
